The front suspension is the latest generational design of the quadrilateral type suspension with semi-virtual steering axis.
The steering knuckle has an elongated shape in the upper mounting section, and the bottom portion has a double mounting point. This design incorporates the advantages of the quadrilateral type suspension design (high tire footprint on the ground during cornering), while maintaining the ability to achieve sharper steering angles by using the two heads in the lower upright, which makes it possible to realize the virtual steering axis.
All the main elements of the suspension architecture are made of aluminum to help limit total weight.
The lower wishbones are mounted to the cradle of the suspension by means of rubber mounts, and to the upright mounted through heads made of steel.
The upper wishbone is a single piece in the shape of a "V." It has two points of attachment to the vehicle, by means of a rubber mount and a steel head to attach the upright.
The anti-roll bar is joined to the shock absorbers using two rockers (one per side) made of aluminum.
The vehicle is equipped with hydraulic shock absorbers of the type:
- Standard - Bitubo [two-pipe] type produced by ZF-SACHS
- Optional - Bitubo [two-pipe] type, with electronic control, produced by ZF-SACHS
The upper portion of the rod is mounted to the buffer while the lower portion of the shock absorber body is mounted to the transverse arm.
A third mounting point, installed on the body of the shock absorber, connects it by means of a rocker to the anti-roll bar.
