Description And Operation: Operation

The amplifier is supplied power directly by the battery and is protected by a fuse in the Rear Power Distribution Center (PDC). The amplifier is connected to ground via a dedicated circuit.

The amplifier connects to the Body Control Module (BCM) and the other system nodes using the Controller Area Network - Interior High Speed (CAN-IHS) data bus.

The amplifier receives four channel outputs from the ETM. The amplifier then supplies outputs to each of the system speakers and the subwoofer.

The hardwired circuits between components related to the audio power amplifier may be diagnosed using conventional diagnostic tools and procedures. Refer to the appropriate wiring information. The wiring information includes wiring diagrams, details of wire harness routing and retention, connector pin-out information and location views for the various wire harness connectors, splices and grounds. For proper wire repair, and connector repair procedures. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE or REMOVAL or INSTALLATION .

However, conventional diagnostic methods will not prove conclusive in the diagnosis of the amplifier, electronic controls, and communication between modules and other devices that provide some features of the audio system. The most reliable, efficient and accurate means to diagnose the amplifier, electronic controls, and communication related to audio system operation requires the use of a diagnostic scan tool. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic information.
