An advanced system of steering assist and the advanced link suspension system enhance the driving experience of the vehicle. A meticulous trim adjustment improves both the longitudinal and lateral dynamic characteristics. This applies to base and sport models.
The front suspension uses the latest generation design of the quadrilateral type suspension.
The steering knuckle has an elongated shape in the upper part which is mounted to a ball joint whereas in the bottom part it has a double bolt design. This design has the advantages of the quadrilateral type suspension (high tire footprint on the ground during cornering) maintaining the ability to achieve sharper steering angles by using the two ball joints in the steering knuckle.
All the main elements of the suspension are made of aluminum; in this way the weight of the architecture is reduced.
- Upper control arm bushings
- Upper ball joint
- Stabilizer bar link
- Lower ball joint
- Strut tension arm
The lower control arms are mounted to the cradle and use bushings at the mounts.
The upper control arm is a single piece in the shape of a "V". It has two bushings and pivot bolts.
The stabilizer bar is joined to the shock absorbers using two rockers (one per side) made of aluminum.
Shock Absorber
- Strut
The vehicle is equipped with hydraulic shock absorbers of the type:
- Standard [two-pipe] type
- Optional [two-pipe] type, with electronic control
A third mount location on the body of the strut allows for a stabilizer link to connect the strut to the stabilizer bar.
The front suspension only features provisions to adjust toe, not camber or caster.
- Tie rod adjustment nut
The front toe adjustment must be performed only when the vehicle is on the standard:
- Standard 0: Vehicle in running order without fuel (only reserve)
- Standard A: Vehicle in running order with full fuel tank.
Always refer to the service information for the proper adjustment procedures and the correct values for wheel alignment.
