Variable Valve Timing Electromagnets In Intake Exhaust Timing System

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Disconnect the electrical connection for the variable valve timing electromagnet, intake side.
  4. Undo the screw (2a) and remove the variable valve timing electromagnet (2b), intake side, with O-ring.

  5. Disconnect the electrical connection for the variable valve timing electromagnet, exhaust side.
  6. Undo the screw (2a) and remove the variable valve timing electromagnet (2b), exhaust side, with O-ring.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Place the variable valve timing electromagnet in its housing, exhaust side (1a), with new Oring, then tighten the screw (1b) to the prescribed torque.

  2. Connect the electrical connection for the variable valve timing electromagnet, exhaust side.

  3. Place the variable valve timing electromagnet in its housing, intake side (1a), with new Oring, then tighten the screw (1b) to the prescribed torque.

  4. Connect the electrical connection for the variable valve timing electromagnet, intake side.
  5. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Connect the negative battery terminal.
