Removal And Installation: 2.0L

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Remove the serpentine belt. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, BELT, SERPENTINE

4. Remove the terminal cover (1).
5. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (2) from the generator.

6. Remove the generator retaining bolts (1b).
7. Remove the generator (1b).

INSTALLATION 

1. Inspect the generator and wiring harness connector integrity before positioning the generator for installation.

2. Install and tighten the generator (1a) retaining bolts (1b) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
3. Connect the wiring harness connector to the generator.
4. Using a nut, connect and secure the B+ to the generator.
5. Install the terminal cover.
6. Install the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
7. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
8. Connect the negative battery cable and perform the Powertrain Verification Test. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
