FTP Sensor Functional Inspection
Test Procedure
- Preparation

Canister maintenance lid (with AWD): removed
- -
FTP sensor: removed
- -
- Procedure
-
- Connect the 3P connector to the FTP sensor.
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Confirm the HDS [FTP Sensor (Fine)].
- Normal Conditions
-
- HDS [FTP Sensor (Fine)] does not vary 0.067 kPa (0.02 inHg, 0.5 mmHg) or more within 3 seconds.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the FTP sensor.
FTP Sensor Port Visual Inspection
Test Procedure
- Preparation
-
- Canister maintenance lid (with AWD): removed
- FTP sensor: removed
- Procedure
-
- Check for a blockage or damage at the FTP sensor ports. (EVAP canister side and vent side)
- Normal Conditions
-
- There is no blockages or damages.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the FTP sensor.
FTP Sensor Vent Hose Inspection
Test Procedure
- Preparation

- Canister maintenance lid (with AWD): removed
- FTP sensor: removed
- Procedure
-
- Connect the 3P connector to the FTP sensor.
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Confirm the HDS [FTP Sensor (Fine)].
- Normal Conditions
-
- HDS [FTP Sensor (Fine)] indicates -0.67 - 0.67 kPa .
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the FTP sensor vent hose.
EVAP Canister Vent Shut Valve Inspection
Test Procedure
- Procedure
-
- Disconnect the EVAP canister vent hose (A) from the EVAP canister (B), then connect a vacuum pump/gauge, 0-30 inHg (C), to the EVAP canister vent shut valve port as shown.
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Select the HDS [CVS OFF].
- Try to apply vacuum to the valve (not more than 5.3 kPa (1.6 inHg, 40 mmHg)) while checking the HDS [FTP Sensor (Fine)].NOTE: To avoid damaging the FTP sensor, do not apply more than 5.3 kPa (1.6 inHg, 40 mmHg) of vacuum.
- Normal Conditions
-
- The EVAP canister vent shut valve does not hold more than 1.3 kPa (0.4 inHg, 10 mmHg) of vacuum.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the EVAP canister vent shut valve.
EVAP Canister Vent Hose Inspection
Test Procedure

- EVAP canister vent hose: disconnected
- Procedure
-
- Check the EVAP canister vent hose (A) for blockage or restriction.
- Normal Conditions
-
- There is no blockage or restriction.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the EVAP canister vent hose.
