Ventilated Seats System Description
Basic Operation
The ventilated seat control unit sets the blower motor to High/Mid/Low or OFF based on the ventilated seat switch signal sent from the climate control unit via the B-CAN. The system stores DTCs when a malfunction is detected in the ventilated control unit.
Blower Control
The ventilated seat control uses pulse width modulation (PWM) to control the blower motor to ensure that the set air volume (Low/Mid/High) is reached.
Auto Switch Function
The auto switch function is an automatic control for the seat blower motor. Based on air outlet temperature, outside air temperature, and in-car temperature, the climate control unit sends request signals to the ventilated seat control unit via the B-CAN to control the seat blower operation.
Remote Engine Start Cooperation Control
The remote engine start cooperation control works as follows. If outside temperature is About 64deg. F (18 deg. C) or more while the remote engine start system is used, the climate control unit sends the operation signal to the ventilated seat control unit to activate the front ventilated seat via the B-CAN. While the remote engine start is operating, the auto switch function performs. Also, during this control, each switch indicator turns off, and each switch operation becomes invalid.
