Manual Function

The mirror defogger is controlled by the driver's door control unit. When the vehicle is in the ON mode and the rear window defogger/mirror defogger switch is pressed, the climate control unit sends the defogger ON signal as a B-CAN signal to the driver's door control unit. The driver's door control unit operates the driver's side mirror defogger and sends the defogger ON signal via the LIN line to the front passenger's door control unit to operate the passenger's side mirror defogger.

Auto Mirror Defogger Function

When the driver's door control unit receives a signal that the outside air temperature is 41 deg.F (5 deg.C) or below from the climate control unit, the driver's door control unit automatically turns on the mirror defoggers within 10 seconds after the vehicle is in the ON mode. The mirror defogger output automatically stops in 10 minutes as a result of its timer. If the driver's door control unit receives a rear window defogger/mirror defogger switch input signal from the climate control unit during mirror defogger output, the power window master switch shuts off the auto operation function immediately.

Defogger Timer Function

The mirror defogger provides a timer control function that is controlled by the climate control unit. The timer control is operated by turning the vehicle to the ON mode, then turning on the mirror defogger switch. The timer operating time varies according to ambient temperature. If the mirror defogger switch is turned on when the timer is active, it toggles between ON and OFF every time the switch is pressed.

Reverse Tilt Mirror Control (With Reverse Tilt Mirror)

When shifting the transmission into R position/mode with the power mirror selector switch in Left or Right position, the driver's or passenger's power mirror tilts down automatically to help the driver's view. The mirror will return to the previous position when the shift position/mode is out of R position/mode. The reverse mirror control is cancelled if the power mirror selector switch is in the center position.
