Confirmation Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle on a lift. Make sure it is securely supported, and allow all four wheels to rotate freely.

2. Start the engine, disable the VSA - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems (1.5L Engine) or How to Troubleshoot the Brake Booster Pressure Monitoring System or How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems (2.0L Engine) (2024 2025) or How to Troubleshoot the CVT System

3. Run the vehicle in R position/mode at speeds over 19 mph (30 km/h) for at least 5 seconds.

4. Confirm the HDS [Direction of Secondary-shaft Rotation], and if any value other than "Reverse" is displayed, the failure is duplicated.
