DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P06A8 (1.5L Engine, PGM-FI System)
DTC P06A8: Internal VCC Power Malfunction
General Description
Main CPU and sub CPU are built into the powertrain control module (PCM). The main CPU supplies 3.3 V power voltage to the sub CPU. The sub CPU converts (A/D conversion) the supplied power voltage and outputs the A/D converted value to the main CPU via serial communication. The main CPU monitors the PCM internal 5 V power supply by comparing with the received value (comparison power supply voltage (3.3 V)) from the sub CPU. When the 5 V power supply is normal, the comparison power supply voltage (3.3 V) falls within a normal area. If the 5 V power supply malfunctions, the comparison power supply voltage (3.3 V) exceeds the range of normal area. If the comparison power supply voltage is out of permissible range for a set time, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- PCM (internal 5 V power supply circuit) failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot are stored in the PCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
