DTC P0600: Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Serial Communication Failure
General Description
The driver IC which has diagnostic function and the CPU are built into the powertrain control module (PCM). If the CPU cannot receive diagnostic information from the driver IC for a specified duration due to occurrence of communication abnormality between the driver IC and the CPU, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
One of these symptoms occurs for at least 5 seconds:
- The CPU does not receive signal from the driver IC via the communication lines.
- The signal sent from the driver IC is abnormal.
Possible Cause
The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot are stored in the PCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
