1. Brush - Inspect

   Preconditions 

   • Brush Holder Removed - Refer to: Alternator Components (2.0L Engine) (2024 2025) or Alternator Components (1.5L Engine)

   Procedure/Specifications 

   • Measure the length of both brushes (a). (Figure 1)

   b	Vernier Caliper

   Specifications (Figure 2) 

   	Standard Value (New)	Service Limit
   c	10.5 mm (0.413 in)	1.5 mm (0.059 in)

   Result 

   • If the measurement is not within specifications, replace the brush holder.
2. Rotor - Test

   Preconditions 

   • Rotor Removed - Refer to: Alternator Components (2.0L Engine) (2024 2025) or Alternator Components (1.5L Engine)

   Procedure/Specifications 

   • Check for continuity between each slip ring (a, b), the rotor (c), and the rotor shaft (d).

   Specifications 

   Position	Specification
   a - b	Continuity
   a - c	No continuity
   a - d	No continuity
   b - c	No continuity
   b - d	No continuity

   Result 

   • If it is abnormal, replace the rotor.
