DTC Troubleshooting: P2238 (2.0L Engine): Inspection
IP Shorted Wire Inspection
NOTICE:
Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
Test Procedure
- Preparation
-
- A/F sensor (Sensor 1) 6P connector: disconnected
- PCM connector E (80P): disconnected
- Procedure
-
- Perform the inspection according to the following table.NOTE: Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.
- Perform the inspection according to the following table.
| (Disconnected) PCM connector E (80P) - Refer to: PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs (3.0L Engine) or PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2.0L Engine) female terminals | ||||
| IG Mode |
|
Normal Conditions | ||
| IP shorted to ground inspection | OFF | Not shorted |
Results
- If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
A/F Sensor (Sensor 1) Inspection
NOTE:
Since there is no direct method to test the inspection item, troubleshooting is performed using a known-good component.
Test Procedure
- Install a known-good A/F sensor (Sensor 1) and attempt to reproduce the failure.
Results
- If the failure is reproduced, there is a problem with other related components.
- If the symptom/DTC goes away, the A/F sensor (Sensor 1) must be faulty.
PCM Inspection
Test Procedure
- If the other inspection item (s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.
Results
- There is a problem with the PCM.
