DTC P24BA:  Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Leak Check Module Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Voltage DTC P24BB:  Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Leak Check Module Pressure Sensor Circuit High Voltage

General Description

The evaporative emission (EVAP) leak check module pressure sensor detects internal pressure of the fuel tank and converts it into electrical signal. The EVAP leak check module pressure sensor outputs low signal voltage at low pressure and high signal voltage at high pressure. If a signal voltage from the EVAP leak check module pressure sensor is a set value, the powertrain control module (PCM) detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold

DTC: P24BA

The EVAP leak check module pressure sensor output voltage is 0.527 V (43.5259 kPa (326.4704 mmHg, 12.85319 inHg)) or less for at least 0.5 second.

DTC: P24BB

The EVAP leak check module pressure sensor output voltage is 4.352 V (113.6981 kPa (852.8035 mmHg, 33.57503 inHg)) or more for at least 0.5 second.

Possible Cause

NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.

Diagnosis Details

Conditions for setting the DTC

When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the PCM memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on and a Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot are stored.

Conditions for clearing the DTC

The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
