DTC P0327: Knock Sensor 1 (Bank 1) Circuit Low Voltage DTC P0328: Knock Sensor 1 (Bank 1) Circuit High Voltage
General Description
Knock sensor 1 (bank 1) is mounted on the engine block and detects engine knocking. The vibrations caused by the knocking are converted into electrical signals through the piezo ceramic element. The powertrain control module (PCM) controls the ignition timing based on the electrical signal. If the signal from knock sensor 1 (bank 1) is a specified voltage for a set time, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
DTC: P0327
The knock sensor 1 (bank 1) output voltage is 0.167 V or less for at least 0.5 second.
DTC: P0328
The knock sensor 1 (bank 1) output voltage is 4.677 V or more for at least 0.5 second.

- Knock sensor 1 (bank 1) KSB1 line short to ground
DTC: P0328
- Knock sensor 1 (bank 1) KSB1 line open
- Knock sensor 1 (bank 1) KSB1 line short to power
- Knock sensor 1 (bank 1) KSSGB1 line open

- Knock sensor 1 (bank 1) failure
- PCM internal circuit failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the PCM memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on and a Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot are stored.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
