DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P0237, P0238 (3.0L Engine)
DTC P0237: Turbocharger Boost Sensor Circuit Low Voltage DTC P0238: Turbocharger Boost Sensor Circuit High Voltage
General Description
The turbocharger boost sensor senses turbocharger boost pressure (vacuum) and converts it into electrical signals. The turbocharger boost sensor outputs low signal voltage at high-vacuum (throttle valve closed) and high signal voltage at low-vacuum (throttle valve wide open). If the turbocharger boost sensor output voltage is excessively high or low, the powertrain control module (PCM) detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Possible Cause
DTC: P0237
- Turbocharger boost sensor P3_SNSR line short to ground
- Turbocharger boost sensor VCC6 line open
- Turbocharger boost sensor VCC6 line short to ground
DTC: P0238
- Turbocharger boost sensor P3_SNSR line open
- Turbocharger boost sensor P3_SNSR line short to power
- Turbocharger boost sensor SG6 line open
Common
- Turbocharger boost sensor failure
- PCM internal circuit failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot are stored in the PCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
