Precautions for Fuel Flow Line/Parts
- Fuel is extremely flammable. It is important to handle it very carefully and keep ignition sources away from the work area. Ignition of fuel is very dangerous and will cause a serious accident.
- Relieve the fuel pressure before disconnecting the fuel line to reduce the risk of fuel spraying from the line.
- You must relieve the fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel line to reduce the risk of fuel spraying from the line.
- Disconnect the 12 volt battery negative terminal
before disconnecting an electrical connector to reduce the risk of a fire caused by a spark.
- Clean the mating surfaces of the fuel joint before connecting as dirt and debris may cause a fuel leak.
- Do not apply an unspecified fluid and lubricant to an O-ring as it may damage or deteriorate the O-ring.
- If this information does not specify a certain procedure to install a hose or a tube, reinstall the hose or the tube in the same condition as it was removed, while paying attention to the following:
-
- Make sure that any hose clamps do not interfere with surrounding parts.
- If marks on hoses, pipes and tubes are present, align them to the marks or projections on the adjacent component.
