The transmission control module (TCM) and the SBW shifter control module (integrated with the SBW shifter assembly) are connected with a communication line (F-CAN A and F-CAN D). For shift position switching control, the shift position signal from the SBW shifter control module via F-CAN D is used for main signal, and the shift position signal from the SBW shifter control module via F-CAN A is used for back-up signal. When input information from the switch input circuit is abnormal while shifting to R, N, or D switch, the TCM receives malfunction from the SBW shifter control module, and stores a DTC.
