PCM Removal And Installation: Installation

NOTE

• If you are removing the PCM, skip the procedures of using the HDS.
• If you are substituting the PCM, skip the procedures of WRITE DATA.

1. PCM - Install

   1. Install the PCM (D). 2. Connect PCM connectors A, B, and C. NOTE:  PCM connectors A, B, and C have symbols (A=□, B=Δ, C=o) embossed on them for identification.

2. PCM Cover - Install

   1. Install the PCM cover (A).

3. VIN - Input

   1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode. NOTE:  DTC P0630 VIN Not Programmed or Mismatch may be stored because the VIN has not been programmed into the PCM; ignore it, and continue this procedure. 2. Manually input the VIN to the PCM with the HDS.

4. WRITE DATA (Engine Oil Life) - Select (USA and Canada Models)

   NOTE:  If the READ DATA (engine oil life) failed in "READ DATA (Engine Oil Life) - Select", skip this procedure. 1. Select the REPLACE PCM MENU, then select WRITE DATA, and follow the screen prompts.

5. WRITE DATA (ATF Life) - Select (USA and Canada Models)

   NOTE:  If the READ DATA (ATF life) failed in "READ DATA (ATF Life) - Select", skip this procedure. 1. Select the A/T system with the HDS. 2. Select the REPLACE TCM/PCM MENU, then select WRITE DATA, and follow the screen prompts.

6. Other Procedures for PCM Replacement - Do

   1. If the READ DATA (engine oil life) failed in "READ DATA (Engine Oil Life) - Select", replace the engine oil and the engine oil filter 2. If the READ DATA (ATF life) failed in "READ DATA (ATF Life) - Select", replace the ATF .

7. IMMOBI SYSTEM - Registration

   Do the keyless access system registration procedure .

8. DTC - Clear

   Clear the Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

9. PCM - Update

   Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software .

10. PCM - Idle Learn

    Do the PCM idle learn procedure .

11. CKP Pattern - Clear/Learn

    Do the CKP pattern clear/CKP pattern learn procedure .
