Driving Position Memory Clear: Procedure
Clear the driving position memory after doing any of the following actions:
- Power seat motor test or replacement.
- Power tilt/telescopic steering motor test or replacement.
- Substitute a known-good power seat control unit.
- Substitute a known-good power tilt/telescopic steering control unit.
NOTE:
- If the driving position memory is cleared, following memory stored in either/or both the power seat control unit and the power tilt/telescopic steering control unit is/are cleared:

Position 1 and 2 of the driving position memory stored in both the power seat control unit and the power tilt/telescopic steering control unit.
- -
Memory of the steering column movement range limitation stored in the power tilt/telescopic steering control unit.
- -
- Learning of steering column movement range limitation is done automatically when the vehicle is turned to ON mode then the OFF (LOCK) mode after the memory is cleared.
- Driving Position Memory - Clear
1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
2. Press and hold the SET button of the driving position memory switch.
3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
4. Release the SET button of the driving position memory switch.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 three more times.
- Once memory is successfully cleared, the driving position memory switch indicator 1 and 2 are turned on for 3 seconds.
- If the indicators are not turned on, go back to step 1 and repeat the procedure.
