MICU Input Test (2016 2017)

NOTE: 

1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

2. Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connectors E, F, G, H, and P

.NOTE:  All connector views are shown from the wire side of the female terminals.

3. Inspect the connectors and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:

4. With the connectors still disconnected, do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired results not obtained
G1 WHT Disconnect relay control module connector B (16P) Check for continuity between terminal G1 and relay control module connector B (16P) terminal No. 16:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and relay control module connector B (16P) terminal No. 15:
There should be continuity.
G1 WHT Disconnect the power window master switch 37P connector Check for continuity between terminal G1 and power window master switch 37P connector terminal No. 30:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and power window master switch 37P connector terminal No. 28:
There should be continuity.
G1 WHT Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) Check for continuity between terminal G1 and audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) terminal No. 2:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) terminal No. 4:
There should be continuity.
G1 WHT Disconnect the windshield wiper control unit 6P connector Check for continuity between terminal G1 and windshield wiper control unit 6P connector terminal No. 5:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and windshield wiper control unit 6P connector terminal No. 3:
There should be continuity.
*1: USA and Canada models
*2: Mexico models
*3: With automatic wiper
*4: With parking and back-up sensor
*5: With BSI
*6: With AcuraLink
Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired results not obtained
G1 *1 WHT Disconnect keyless access/TPMS control unit connector C (20P) Check for continuity between terminal G1 and keyless access/TPMS control unit connector C (20P) terminal No. 11:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 *1 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and keyless access/TPMS control unit connector C (20P) terminal No. 1:
There should be continuity.
G1 *2 WHT Disconnect keyless access control unit connector B (28P) Check for continuity between terminal G1 and keyless access control unit connector B (28P) terminal No. 7:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 *2 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and keyless access control unit connector B (28P) terminal No. 6:
There should be continuity.
G1 WHT Disconnect gauge control module connector A (32P) Check for continuity between terminal G1 and gauge control module connector A (32P) terminal No. 26:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and gauge control module connector A (32P) terminal No. 25:
There should be continuity.
G1 WHT Disconnect climate control unit connector A (28P) Check for continuity between terminal G1 and climate control unit connector A (28P) terminal No. 9:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and climate control unit connector A (28P) terminal No. 8:
There should be continuity.
G1 WHT Disconnect the headlight leveling control unit 12P connector Check for continuity between terminal G1 and headlight leveling control unit 12P terminal No. 8:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and headlight leveling control unit 12P terminal No. 7:
There should be continuity.
G1 WHT Disconnect power seat control unit connector A (20P) Check for continuity between terminal G1 and power seat control unit connector A (20P) terminal No. 17:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and power seat control unit connector A (20P) terminal No. 16:
There should be continuity.
*1: USA and Canada models
*2: Mexico models
*3: With automatic wiper
*4: With parking and back-up sensor
*5: With BSI
*6: With AcuraLink

G1 *3 WHT Disconnect the automatic lighting/rain sensor 5P connector Check for continuity between terminal G1 and automatic lighting/rain sensor 5P connector terminal No. 4:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 *3 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and automatic lighting/rain sensor 5P connector terminal No. 3:
There should be continuity.
G1 *4 WHT Disconnect the parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector Check for continuity between terminal G1 and parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector terminal No. 10:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 *4 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector terminal No. 22:
There should be continuity.
G1 *5 WHT Disconnect the left side BSI radar unit 6P connector Check for continuity between terminal G1 and left side BSI radar unit 6P connector terminal No. 5:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 *5 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and left side BSI radar unit 6P connector terminal No. 3:
There should be continuity.
G1 *5 WHT Disconnect the right side BSI radar unit 6P connector Check for continuity between terminal G1 and right side BSI radar unit 6P connector terminal No. 5:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 *5 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and right side BSI radar unit 6P connector terminal No. 3:
There should be continuity.
G1 *6 WHT Disconnect the telematics control unit 36P connector Check for continuity between terminal G1 and telematics control unit 36P connector terminal No. 34:
There should be continuity.
An open in the B-CAN wire
G2 *6 RED Check for continuity between terminal G2 and telematics control unit 36P connector terminal No. 33:
There should be continuity.
G11 LT BLU Under all conditions Check for continuity between terminal G11 and data link connector (DLC) terminal No. 7:
There should be continuity.
An open in the K-LINE wire
*1: USA and Canada models
*2: Mexico models
*3: With automatic wiper
*4: With parking and back-up sensor
*5: With BSI
*6: With AcuraLink

5. Reconnect the connectors to the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, and do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired results not obtained
F23 PNK Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. C16 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
G7 PNK Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. C16 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
F28 TAN Vehicle ON mode Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. D11 (10 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
G9 TAN Vehicle ON mode Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. D11 (10 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
E33 YEL Vehicle ON mode Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. D10 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
G14 YEL Vehicle ON mode Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. D10 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
F5 YEL Vehicle ON mode Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. D21 (20 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
G8 LT GRN Vehicle ON mode Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. D26 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
G3 BRN In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G502)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
H1 BRN In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G502)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
P2 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G501)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
