WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Acura RDX, 2015 Acura RDX, 2014 Acura RDX, and 2013 Acura RDX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
If you suspect there is an immobilizer system problem, check the status log in the HDS.
- Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC) .
- Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
- On the HDS screen, at SYSTEM SELECTION MENU, enter ONE-PUSH START, then select KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL UNIT or BACKUP CONTROL UNIT.NOTE: If the HDS does not communicate, check the keyless access control unit power, ground, K line, and L-line connectors.
- At KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL UNIT, enter KEYLESS ACCESS SYSTEM INFORMATION, then select KEYLESS ACCESS STATUS LOG.
- At BACKUP CONTROL UNIT, enter SYSTEM INFORMATION, then select STATUS LOG.
- Check the STATUS LOG count. Troubleshoot the status with the highest count first. If no counts are listed, the immobilizer system is OK. Continue with normal symptom troubleshooting.
