Does not switch to the multi view display
- DTC check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC Are any DTCs indicated?
YES
Do the DTC troubleshooting.
NO
Go to step 2.
- Open wire check (SGND line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Center switch panel/interface dial 7P connector - 3. Check for continuity the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Center switch panel/interface dial 7P connector: disconnected Test circuit SGND Test point 1 Center switch panel/interface dial 7P connector No. 6 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the center switch panel/interface dial and the body ground (G504).
- Center switch panel/interface dial check
-1. Check the center switch panel/interface dial.
Is the center switch panel/interface dial OK?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
- Open wire check (MVC SW line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Multi view camera unit connector A (20P): disconnected Center switch panel/interface dial 7P connector: disconnected Test circuit MVC SW Test point 1 Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) No. 18 (GRN) Test point 2 Center switch panel/interface dial 7P connector No. 3 (GRN) Is there continuity?
YES
The MVC SW wire is not open. Go to step 5.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the center switch panel/interface dial and the multi view camera switch.
- System check
-1. Reconnect the following connectors.
Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) Center switch panel/interface dial 7P connector - 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 3. Start-up the system diagnostic mode, and select the System Connection.
Is MVCS Connect indicated?
YES
Go to step 10.
NO
Go to step 6.
- Shorted wire check (MVC VID line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Multi view camera unit connector B (24P) Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Multi view camera unit connector B (24P): disconnected Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P): disconnected Test circuit MVC VID Test point 1 Multi view camera unit connector B (24P) No. 10 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short to body ground in the wire between the multi view camera unit and the audio-navigation unit.
NO
Go to step 7.
- Open wire check (MVC VID, MVC GND lines)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Multi view camera unit connector B (24P): disconnected Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P): disconnected Test circuit MVC VID Test point 1 Multi view camera unit connector B (24P) No. 10 (BLK) Test point 2 Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P) No. 15 (GRN) Test circuit MVC GND Test point 1 Multi view camera unit connector B (24P) No. 21 (RED) Test point 2 Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P) No. 3 (RED) Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 8.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the multi view camera unit and the audio-navigation unit.
- Shorted wire check (MVC VID line to MVC GND line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Multi view camera unit connector B (24P): disconnected Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P): disconnected Test circuit MVC VID, MVC GND Test point 1 Multi view camera unit connector B (24P) No. 10 (BLK) Test point 2 Multi view camera unit connector B (24P) No. 21 (RED) Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short in the wire between the multi view camera unit and the audio-navigation unit.
NO
Go to step 9.
- Open wire check (SGND lines)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) - 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Multi view camera unit connector A (20P): disconnected Test circuit SGND Test point 1 Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) No. 11 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Test circuit SGND Test point 1 Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) No. 12 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the multi view camera unit .
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the multi view camera unit and the body ground (G402).
- Audio-navigation unit check (MVC CHK line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P) - 3. On the unit side, check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P): disconnected Test circuit MVC CHK Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P) No. 12 (BRN) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the audio-navigation unit .
NO
The audio-navigation unit is OK. Go to step 11.
- Open wire check (MVC CHK line)
-1. Disconnect the following connectors.
Multi view camera unit connector B (24P) - 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Multi view camera unit connector B (24P): disconnected Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P): disconnected Test circuit MVC CHK Test point 1 Multi view camera unit connector B (24P) No. 9 (BRN) Test point 2 Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P) No. 12 (BRN) Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the multi view camera unit .
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the multi view camera unit and the audio-navigation unit.
