XM Signal Reception Level Indication Mode

NOTE: When you receive any XM complaint, do the XM self-diagnosis to check for any XM error codes. To get the XM error codes, do the following:
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
  2. Select XM2 mode.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
  4. Push and hold the preset No. 3 and No. 6 buttons.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
  6. While holding the buttons for 5 seconds, then release the buttons.
  7. Press and release preset No. 1 button to read the error code.
    Error Code Displayed Solution
    SG NOSIG Move the vehicle to an open area, and recheck. If the signal does not improve, substitute a known-good XM antenna (see XM ANTENNA REPLACEMENT  ), and recheck.
    SG GOOD The XM signal is OK.
    SG MARG The XM signal is OK.
    SG WEAK Move the vehicle to an open area, and recheck. If the signal does not improve, substitute a known-good XM antenna (see XM ANTENNA REPLACEMENT  ), and recheck.
    SG VWEAK Move the vehicle to an open area, and recheck. If the signal does not improve, substitute a known-good XM antenna (see XM ANTENNA REPLACEMENT  ), and recheck.
  8. To end the XM self-diagnosis, turn the audio system off, or turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
