Carpet Replacement

KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014*

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
  • Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the carpet.
  • Be careful not to damage the dashboard or other interior trim pieces.
  • When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
  1. Remove these items:
  2. Detach the clips, then remove the footrest (A).

  3. Push back the knob (A) to release the hooks (B), then pull up the accelerator pedal (C).

  4. Remove the bolts, then remove the rear vent duct C (A).

  5. Detach the clips on both sides of the carpet (A). Release the Velcro fastener (B), and pull out the carpet from under the plate (C), then remove the carpet.

  6. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the carpet.
    • Make sure the floor wire harnesses and the antenna lead are routed correctly.
    • If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
    • Push the clips, the fasteners, and the hooks into place securely.
    • If necessary, adjust the shift cable (see SHIFT CABLE ADJUSTMENT ).
