Wiper Motor Test
- Open the hood, and remove the wiper arms (see
WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT ).NOTE: Carefully remove the wiper arms so that they do not touch the hood.
- Remove the hood seal and cowl covers (see COWL COVER REPLACEMENT ).
- Disconnect the 5P connector (A) from the wiper motor (B).
- Test the motor by connecting battery power to terminal No. 2 and grounding terminal No. 3 of the wiper motor 5P connector. The motor should run at low speed. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the motor.
- Test the motor by connecting battery power to terminal No. 2 and grounding terminal No. 5 of the wiper motor 5P connector. The motor should run at high speed. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the motor.
- Connect an analog ohmmeter between terminals No. 1 and No. 4, and run the motor at low or high speed. The ohmmeter should indicate continuity and no continuity alternately. If it does not, replace the motor.
