HFL Switch Test

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ), and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.

1. Remove the driver's airbag (see DRIVER'S AIRBAG REPLACEMENT ).
2. Disconnect the 20P connector (A).

3. Measure the resistance between the terminals No. 8 and No. 19 in each switch position according to the table.
   HFL-NAVIGATION VOICE CONTROL SWITCH (WITH NAVIGATION)

   No buttons pressed	About 10 kΩ
   PICK-UP button pressed	About 47 Ω
   HANG-UP button pressed	About 220 Ω

   HFL SWITCH (WITHOUT NAVIGATION)
   
   

   Position	Resistance
   No buttons pressed	About 1 kΩ
   HFL TALK button pressed	About 46 Ω
   HFL BACK button pressed	About 185 Ω

4. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the switch.
   • With navigation (see VOICE CONTROL SWITCH REPLACEMENT ).
   • Without navigation (see HFL SWITCH REPLACEMENT  ).
