Steering Column Cover Removal/Installation

Special Tools Required 

KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *

* Available through the Acura Tool and Equipment Program, call 888-424-6857

NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands
  • Take care not to scratch the dashboard or the panels
  • Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components
  • Do not pry the column cover surface with any tools
  1. Remove the instrument fascia (see Instrument Fascia Removal/Installation )
  2. Turn the steering wheel to access the mounting screws, then remove the screws from front side of the column cover (A)

  3. Insert a small screwdriver or similar tool into the holes (A) in the lower column cover (B) Gently push to release the hooks (C), and pull up the upper column cover (D) to remove it

  4. Remove the three screws (A, B), then remove the lower column cover (C)

  5. Install the upper and lower column cover in the reverse order of removal Make sure the wire harnesses are not pinched before tightening the screws. Push the hooks into place securely.
