DTC 2601: Display Diag. Connect

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Acura TL, 2010 Acura TL, and 2009 Acura TL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
  • Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST )
  • This navigation DTC sets when a mechanical malfunction in the navigation display is detected. sets when a GA-Net bus problem is detected (open or short), or an internal ECU BUS circuit problem is detected (open or short).
  • Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting
  • Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION )
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode
  2. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu (see SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC MODE )
  3. Check the System Links

    Is the Display icon red? 

    YES  -Go to step 4

    NO  -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time

  4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode
  5. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at these items
    • Audio-navigation unit connector C (14P)
    • HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector
    • AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) (USA models)
    • XM receiver connector A (14P) (Canada models)

    Are the connections OK? 

    YES  -Go to step 6

    NO  -Repair poor connections or loose terminals, and recheck the self-diagnosis mode (see SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC MODE )

  6. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector C(14P) and the navigation display unit 32P connector
  7. Connect audio-navigation unit connector C (14P) terminals No 9 and No 10 with a jumper wire

  8. Check for continuity between navigation display unit 32P connector terminals No 24 and No 25

    Is there continuity? 

    YES  -Go to step 9

    NO  -There is an open in the wire(s) between the navigation display and the audio-navigation unit Replace the affected shielded harness

  9. Disconnect the jumper wire
  10. Disconnect these items
    • HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector
    • AcuraLink control unit connector A (32P) (USA models)
    • XM receiver connector A (14P) (Canada models)
  11. Check for continuity between navigation display unit 32P connector terminals No 24 and No 25

    Is there continuity? 

    YES  -There is a short in the wires between the GA-NET (+) wire and the GA-NET (-) wire Replace the affected shielded harness

    NO  -Go to step 12

  12. Check for continuity between body ground and navigation display unit 32P connector terminals No 24 and No 25 individually

    Is there continuity? 

    YES  -There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the navigation display unit and the audio-navigation unit Replace the affected shielded harness

    NO  -Go to step 13

  13. Check for continuity between the terminals of navigation display unit 32P connector according to the table
    CONTINUITY REFERENCE CHART

    From terminal To terminals
    No 9 (GRY) No 24 (PNK), No 25 (BLU)

    Is there continuity? 

    YES  - There is a short in wires between the navigation display unit and the audio-navigation unit Replace the affected shielded harness

    NO  -Go to step 14

  14. Reconnect the all connectors, then turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode
  15. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu (see SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC MODE )
  16. Check the System Links

    Is the Display icon red? 

    YES  -Go to step 17

    NO  -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time

  17. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode
  18. Disconnect AcuraLink control unit(XM receiver connector A (32P) (USA models) or XM receiver connector A (14P) (Canada models)
  19. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode
  20. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items Menu (see SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC MODE )
  21. Select the Display

    Is the Display icon red? 

    YES  -Go to step 22

    NO  -Replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) (see ACURALINK CONTROL UNIT (XM RECEIVER) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ) or the XM receiver (see ACURALINK CONTROL UNIT (XM RECEIVER) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )

  22. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode
  23. Remove the center console panel (see CENTER CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
  24. Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector (see step 2 on HFL SWITCH TEST )
  25. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode
  26. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items Menu (see SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC MODE )
  27. Select the Display

    Is the Display icon red? 

    YES  -Go to step 28

    NO  -Replace the HandsFreeLink control unit (see HFL SWITCH TEST )

  28. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode
  29. Substitute a know-good navigation display unit (see NAVIGATION DISPLAY UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
  30. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode
  31. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items Menu (see SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC MODE )
  32. Select the Display

    Is the Display icon red? 

    YES  -Replace the audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )

    NO  -Replace the original navigation display unit (see NAVIGATION DISPLAY UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
