DTC 1302: GPS Receiver Error 1

NOTE:
  • This navigation DTC sets when there is an internal GPS receiver problem.
  • Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST )
  • Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION )
  • Make sure the vehicle is parked outside and away from buildings
  • Aftermarket metallic window tint or electronic devices located near the navigation unit or GPS antenna can potentially interfere with the operation of the navigation system
  1. Check the most recent DTC (see HOW TO CHECK ERROR HISTORY )
  2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode, then back to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode
  3. Check the most recent DTC (see HOW TO CHECK ERROR HISTORY )

    Is DTC 1302 indicated at the time you cycled the vehicle? 

    YES  -Go to step 4

    NO  -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time If the unit repeatedly comes back with the DTC, replace the audio-navigation unit

  4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode
  5. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the audio-navigation unit connector J (2P)
  6. Check the most recent DTC (see HOW TO CHECK ERROR HISTORY )
  7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode, then back to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode
  8. Check the most recent DTC (see HOW TO CHECK ERROR HISTORY )

    Is DTC 1302 indicated at the time you cycled the vehicle? 

    YES  -Replace the GPS Antenna (see GPS ANTENNA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ), then retest If the DTC continues to set, replace the audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )

    NO  -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time If the vehicle repeatedly comes back with the DTC, replace the audio-navigation unit
