DTC U0151: Gauge Control Module Lost Communication with SRS Unit

NOTE:
- If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A )
- If the HDS does not communicate with the SRS unit, the SRS indicator stay on, go to symptom troubleshooting for SRS indicator stay on, but no DTCs are stored (see SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING )
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then the ON mode
- Wait for 6 at least seconds
- Check for DTCs with the HDS
Is DTC U0151 indicated?
YES -Go to step 5
NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time Check for loose or poor connections between the gauge control module, and the SRS unit
- Check for SRS DTCs with the HDS
Is any DTCs indicated?
YES -Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting, then recheck
NO -Go to step 6
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode
- Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ), then wait at least 3 minutes
- Disconnect the gauge control module 32P connector
- Disconnect SRS unit connector A (39P)
- Check for continuity between the gauge control module 32P connector terminals No 9 and No 10 and SRS unit connector A (39P) terminals No 16 and No 17 respectivelyFig 1: Checking Continuity Between Gauge Control Module 32P Connector Terminals 9, 10 And SRS Unit Connector

* BLU, BRIM, or GRN wire may be used at the SRS unit
Is there continuity?
YES -Substitute a known-good SRS unit (see SRS UNIT REPLACEMENT ), and recheck If the indication goes away, replace the original SRS unit If the DTC is still present, replace the gauge control module (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT )
NO -Repair open or poor connection in the wire between the SRS unit and the gauge control module
