'05-06 models

  1. Remove the roof console (see ROOF CONSOLE REPLACEMENT ).
  2. Measure the resistance between the No. 1 and No. 2 terminals of roof console 20P connector in each switch position according to the table.
    TERMINALS REFERENCE CHART

    Position Resistance
    EMERGENCY About 200 Ω
    ONSTAR About 400 Ω
    CALL ANSWER/END About 800 Ω
    VOICE ACTIVATION About 1.55 kΩ
    OFF About 1.55 kΩ
  3. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the button.
  4. Check the LEDs continuity between the No. 7, No. 15 and No. 14 terminals of roof console connector (28P). There should be continuity.
  5. If the continuity check is not as specified, replace the button.
