Hood Opener Cable Replacement

NOTE:

Put on gloves to protect your hands.
Take care not to scratch the body and related parts.

Remove these items:
- Passenger's side engine compartment cover (see FRONT GRILLE LOWER MOLDING REPLACEMENT )
- Driver's side engine compartment cover (see FRONT GRILLE LOWER MOLDING REPLACEMENT )
- Front bulkhead cover (see FRONT GRILLE LOWER MOLDING REPLACEMENT )
- Front fender trim, driver's side (see FRONT FENDER TRIM REPLACEMENT )
- Front inner fender, driver's side as necessary (see FRONT INNER FENDER REPLACEMENT )
- Kick panel, left side (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS )
Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood latch (B) (see HOOD LATCH REPLACEMENT ).

Using a clip remover, detach the clips, and remove the grommet (C) from the body, then remove the hood opener cable from the vehicle. Take care not to bend the cable.
Install the cable in the reverse order of removal, and check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
