Trunk Lid Latch Replacement

NOTE: Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  1. Remove these items (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TRUNK AREA ):
    • Trunk rear trim panel
    • Trunk side trim panel, right side
  2. Remove the bolts, then remove the trunk inside lever (A) from the body. Take care not to kink the opener cable.

  3. Disconnect the trunk lid opener cables (A, B) from the joint bushings (C). Take care not to kink the opener cables.
    NOTE: Check the bushing for damage, and replace if necessary.

  4. Disconnect the actuator connector (A), then remove the connector clip (B). Remove the trunk lid opener cable (C) from the clip (D) on the body. Take care not to kink the opener cable.

  5. Remove the bolts (E) and loosen the bolt (F), then remove the latch.
  6. Pull the trunk lid latch (A) away to release the bolt (B) from the hole (C) in the body.

  7. Disconnect the trunk lid opener cable (A) from the joint bushing (B).
    NOTE: Check the bushing for damage, and replace if necessary.

  8. Install the latch in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • Make sure the connector is plugged in properly and the opener cable is connected properly.
    • Make sure the trunk lid opens properly and locks securely.
