DTC B1673: Ignition Switch Control Unit (KNOB SW) Circuit Open
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- Turn the built-in switch OFF.
- Insert the built-in key into the ignition switch.
- Turn the ignition switch GN (II) and OFF ten times using the ignition key.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1673 indicated?
YES - Go to step 6.
NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at the keyless access control unit and at the ignition switch control unit.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect keyless access control unit connector A (31P).
- Disconnect the ignition switch control unit 10P connector.
- Check for continuity between keyless access control unit connector A (31P) terminal No. 4 and ignition switch control unit 10P connector terminal No. 7.Fig 1: Checking Continuity Between Terminal No. 4 And Ignition Switch Control Unit 10P Connector Terminal No. 7

Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 10.
NO - Repair an open in the wire.
- Remove the built-in key from the ignition switch.
- With the ignition knob pushed, check for continuity between ignition switch control unit 10P connector terminals No. 7 and No. 6.Fig 2: Checking Continuity Between Ignition Switch Control Unit 10P Connector Terminals No. 7 And No. 6

Is there continuity?
YES - Replace the keyless access control unit.
NO - Replace the ignition switch control unit.
