Output Shaft (Countershaft) Speed Sensor Replacement
- Raise the vehicle upon a lift, or apply the parking brake, block the rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle. Make sure it is securely supported.
- Remove the splash shield (see
FRONT SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT
).
- Disconnect the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor connector, and remove the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor.

- Install a new O-ring (A) on the new output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor (B), then install the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor in the transmission housing.
- Check the connector for rust, dirt, or oil, then connect the connector securely.
