DTC B1834: M/T Harness Poor Ground
NOTE:
If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN system diagnosis test mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A
).
- Clear the DTC with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then back ON (II).
- Operate the power seat with the power seat adjustment switch.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 1834 indicated?
- YES - Go to step 5.
- NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- Check for voltage between the power seat control unit connector A (20P) No. 8 terminal and body ground.Fig 1: Checking Voltage Between Power Seat Control Unit Connector A (20P) No. 8 Terminal & Body Ground

Is there 1 V or less?
- YES - Check for poor connection between the power seat control unit connector A (20P) and G503, G601. If the wire and ground are OK, replace the power seat control unit (see POWER SEAT CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST ).
- NO - Check for the poor ground (G503, G601) or repair an open in the wire.
