Possible Causes

An idle control system malfunction can be caused by:

• Idle Air Control (IAC) valve mechanical malfunction.
• IAC thermal valve malfunction.
• Throttle body clogged port or improper adjustment.
• Intake manifold gasket leak.
• Intake air hose loose and/or leaking.
• Vacuum hose leaks.
• Incorrect ECT sensor output signal.
