P0116: ECT Sensor (Range/Performance)

NOTE: If DTC P0117 and/or P0118 are stored at the same time as DTC P0116 and/or P0125, troubleshoot those DTCs first. See P0117: ECT SENSOR (LOW VOLTAGE) and/or P0118: ECT SENSOR (HIGH VOLTAGE) .

If the scan tool indicates DTC P0116, a range/performance problem in the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor circuit may exist. To diagnose, see Fig 1 or Fig 2 .
