Hazard Warning Switch

Remove center console front cover. On all models, remove hazard warning switch. Check for continuity between specified switch terminals with switch in ON and OFF positions. See HAZARD WARNING SWITCH CONTINUITY  table. See Fig 1 . If continuity is not as specified, replace hazard warning switch. If continuity is as specified, check turn signal/hazard relay input. See TURN SIGNAL/HAZARD RELAY INPUT  under SYSTEM TESTS.

HAZARD WARNING SWITCH CONTINUITY

Switch Position (1) Check Continuity Between Terminals No.
Off
With Navigation System 1 & 2
Without Navigation System 1 & 5
On (2)
With Navigation System 1 & 2; 3 & 4; 4 & 5
Without Navigation System 1 & 5; 2 & 3; 3 & 4
(1) Illumination bulb is positioned between terminals No. 1 and 2 with navigation system, and terminals No. 1 and 5 without navigation system. Replace illumination bulb and retest before replacing switch.
(2) Connect positive probe of ohmmeter to terminal No. 3 without navigation system and terminal No. 4 with navigation system.
