Intake Manifold: Installation
- Install the intake manifold. Tighten bolt and nuts to sequence. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS and Fig 1. Always use a new intake manifold gasket.
- Install the upper cover. Tighten bolts and nuts sequentially 2 or 3 steps. Always use a new gasket (2000-03 models). See Fig 2.
- Install the brake booster vacuum (A), vacuum hoses (B) and Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose (C). See Figure.
- Install the breather hose (A) and water bypass hoses (B). See Figure.
- Install the throttle cable, then adjust the cable. See THROTTLE CABLE under ADJUSTMENTS.
- Install the cruise control cable, then adjust the cable. See CRUISE CONTROL CABLE under ADJUSTMENTS.
- Install the intake air duct (A), then install the vacuum hose (B) and breather pipe (C). See Figure.
- Install the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister hose (D).
- Tighten the bolt (D) securing the TCS control valve bracket. Connect the TCS control valve angle sensor connector (C), TCS control valve actuator connector (B) and water bypass (A) on the TCS control valve assembly (J32A2 engine). See Figure.
- Install the ignition coil cover(s) (B) and intake manifold cover (A). See Figure.
- Clean up any spilled engine coolant.
- After installation, check that all tubes, hoses and connectors are installed correctly.
- Refill the radiator with engine coolant, and bleed air from the cooling system with the heater valve open.
