SERVICE INFORMATION
When you're working on a '01-03 3.2TL, '01-03 3.2CL, or '01-03 MDX with multiple misfire DTCs, use the MISFIRED CYL in the Data List. Using the MISFIRED CYL will help you narrow the misfire to a single cylinder.
Here's what to do:
- Follow the screen prompts to get to the PGM FI Menu.
- From the PGM FI Menu, select Data List and look for the MISFIRED CYL.
- Drive the vehicle using the freeze data parameters and watch the zeros.NOTE: The MISFIRED CYL has eight zeros that represent eight cylinders. (Cylinder 1 is on the right and cylinder 8 is on the left.)
- If a zero changes to a 1, that cylinder is misfiring. If no zeros change to a 1, no misfires were detected.
- If no zeros change to a 1, no misfires were detected.NOTE: When a zero changes to a 1, it will not change until the ignition switch is cycled off, then back on.
