SERVICE INFORMATION

When you're working on a '01-03 3.2TL, '01-03 3.2CL, or '01-03 MDX with multiple misfire DTCs, use the MISFIRED CYL in the Data List. Using the MISFIRED CYL will help you narrow the misfire to a single cylinder.

Here's what to do:

Follow the screen prompts to get to the PGM FI Menu.
From the PGM FI Menu, select Data List and look for the MISFIRED CYL.
Drive the vehicle using the freeze data parameters and watch the zeros.
NOTE: The MISFIRED CYL has eight zeros that represent eight cylinders. (Cylinder 1 is on the right and cylinder 8 is on the left.)
- If a zero changes to a 1, that cylinder is misfiring. If no zeros change to a 1, no misfires were detected.
- If no zeros change to a 1, no misfires were detected.
  NOTE: When a zero changes to a 1, it will not change until the ignition switch is cycled off, then back on.
