Cold Fast Idle Speed Too High
- Check idle air control valve. See DTC P05xx: IDLE AIR CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article.
- Check idle air control thermal valve (3.5RL). See IDLE AIR CONTROL THERMAL VALVE under IDLE CONTROL SYSTEM in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING article.
- Check idle speed adjustment. See ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article.
- Inspect or adjust throttle cable.
- Check throttle body for binding, misadjustment or sticking.
