Oil Pump: Removal
- Drain engine oil.
- Turn the crankshaft so that the No. 1 piston is at top dead center. See TIMING BELT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Remove timing belt. See TIMING BELT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Remove idler pulley.
- Remove the CKP sensor, then remove the timing belt pulley. See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR .
- Remove the VTEC solenoid valve and oil filter assembly. See VTEC SOLENOID VALVE TEST under TESTING.
- Remove the oil pan and the oil screen (A). See Fig 1.
- Remove the mounting bolts and the oil pump assembly (B).
- Remove the screws from the pump housing, then separate the housing and cover.
