Low Fuel Indicator

  1. Perform fuel gauge sending unit test. See FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT TEST  . If problem exists, repair as necessary and retest system. If problem does not exist, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch on with fuel gauge sending unit float at empty position. If low fuel indicator light comes on, go to next step. If low fuel indicator light does not come on, check low fuel indicator light circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Raise fuel gauge sending unit float arm so it is above low fuel position. If low fuel indicator light goes out, system is okay at this time. If low fuel indicator light does not go out, check low fuel indicator light circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
