Set/Resume/Cancel Switch

  1. Deactivate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in RESTRAINTS. Remove 2 SET/RESUME/CANCEL switch screws. Disconnect 4-pin harness connector. See Fig 1. Go to next step.
  2. Place SET/RESUME/CANCEL switch in each position and ensure continuity exists only between indicated cable reel connector terminals (component side):
    • With SET switch depressed, continuity should exist between terminals No. 2 and 4.
    • With RESUME switch depressed, continuity should exist between terminals No. 2 and 3.
    • With CANCEL switch depressed, continuity should exist between terminal No. 2 (positive lead of DVOM) and terminal No. 3 (negative lead), and between terminal No. 2 (positive lead) and terminal No. 4 (negative lead).

    If continuity exists as specified, SET/RESUME/CANCEL switch is okay. If continuity does not exist as specified, replace SET/RESUME/CANCEL switch.
