A/T Range Switch
- Ensure parking brake is applied. Place A/T gear position switch in Neutral position. See Fig 1. Place transaxle control shaft in Neutral. Remove lock nut and washer on A/T gear position switch. Loosen A/T gear position switch bolts. Install NEW lock washer on A/T gear position switch, aligning projected tip with neutral mark on switch. Install lock nut and tighten while holding control shaft. Bend lock tabs against lock nut. See Fig 1.
- Tighten A/T gear position switch bolts. Connect electrical connector to A/T gear position switch. Check A/T gear position switch for synchronization with indicator. If A/T gear position switch is not synchronized with indicator, loosen bolts and readjust. After adjustment, start engine and verify proper operation. Ensure shift lever cannot be moved from "N" to "R" position without pressing button. Ensure engine will only start in "N" or "P" position. Back-up lights come on in "R" position.
