Confirming Wake-Up Mode
When ignition switch is turned to ON position, all multiplex control units wake-up together without communicating with each other through communication lines. When any switch related to door multiplex control unit is activated, it will wake-up door multiplex control unit, which in turn will wake-up driver's multiplex control unit, then passenger's multiplex control unit. When a switch related to driver's or passenger's multiplex control unit is activated, it will wake-up its related multiplex control unit, but only the driver's and passenger's multiplex control units will wake-up. Door multiplex control unit will not wake-up. If checking a problem, turn on a switch in the following lists which is most closely related to suspected problem and see if it will wake-up related multiplex control unit. If any multiplex control unit is faulty and cannot wake-up, several parts of multiplex system will not operate. After confirming sleep mode, turn each of following switches to ON position and wake-up each multiplex control unit. If system operates properly, wake-up mode is okay.
Door multiplex control unit switches:
- Driver's door lock switch (LOCK/UNLOCK)
- Driver's door switch (OPEN)
- Driver's door key cylinder switch (LOCK/UNLOCK)
- Driver's door lock knob switch (LOCK/UNLOCK)
- Trunk opener switch (PUSH)
Driver's multiplex control unit switches:
- DOOR - DRIVER'S communication line
- Ignition key switch
- Combination light switch
- Left rear door switch (OPEN)
- Left rear door lock knob switch (UNLOCK)
- Trunk key cylinder switch (OPEN)
- Wake-up line (Pink/Blue wire)
Passenger's multiplex control unit switches:
- Hood switch (OPEN)
- Trunk latch switch (OPEN)
- Radio security input
- Front passenger's door switch (OPEN)
- Front passenger's key cylinder switch (LOCK/UNLOCK)
- Front passenger's door lock switch (LOCK/UNLOCK)
- Front passenger's door lock knob switch (UNLOCK)
- Right rear door switch (OPEN)
- Right rear door lock knob switch (UNLOCK)
- Keyless entry transmitter (LOCK, UNLOCK, TRUNK, and PANIC buttons)
- Wake-up line (Pink/Blue wire)
If wake-up mode is not okay, repair open or short in suspect communication line. If wake-up mode is okay but some individual system functions are malfunctioning, test malfunctioning system functions by performing self-diagnostic mode 2 tests. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC MODE 2 . Repair as necessary.
