Possible Causes

An idle control system malfunction can be caused by:
- Idle Air Control (IAC) valve mechanical malfunction.
- IAC thermal valve malfunction.
- Throttle body clogged port or improper adjustment.
- Intake manifold gasket leak.
- Intake air hose loose and/or leaking.
- Vacuum hose leaks.
- Incorrect ECT sensor output signal.
