Cruise Control Actuator Assembly

  1. Disconnect cruise control actuator Gray 4-pin harness connector. Remove cover. Ensure output linkage operates smoothly without binding or sticking. Using a fused jumper wire, connect positive battery voltage to terminal No. 2 (Brown wire) and negative battery lead to terminal No. 1 (Black wire) of cruise control actuator Gray 4-pin harness connector. See Fig 1 .
  2. Cruise control actuator clutch should make a clicking sound and output linkage should be locked. When battery voltage is removed, output linkage should unlock and move smoothly. If actuator operates as specified, go to next step. If actuator does not operate as specified, replace actuator.
  3. With fused jumper wire still connected to positive battery voltage at terminal No. 2 (Brown wire) and negative battery lead to terminal No. 1 (Black wire) of cruise control actuator Gray 4-pin harness connector; apply positive battery voltage to terminal No. 4 (Brown/White wire) and negative battery lead to terminal No. 3 (Brown/Black wire) of cruise control actuator Gray 4-pin harness connector. When output linkage is in fully closed and middle positions, actuator motor should operate. Actuator motor should stop operating in fully opened position. If actuator motor operates as specified, go to next step. If actuator motor does not operate as specified, replace actuator.
  4. Using a fused jumper wire, connect positive battery voltage to terminal No. 3 (Brown/Black wire) and connect negative battery lead to terminal No. 4 (Brown/White wire) of cruise control actuator Gray 4-pin harness connector. When output linkage is in fully opened and middle positions, actuator motor should operate. In fully closed position, actuator motor should stop operating. If actuator motor does not operate as specified, replace actuator.
